Rome and its People
From the origins of Rome, on 21 April 753 BC, to the Noantri Festival in Trastevere. Lazio has some very unique religious and folk festivals. Two of these are the spectacular procession of the Macchina di Santa Rosa in Viterbo, and the infiorata or flower carpets in Genzano to mark the Feast of Corpus Christi. Yet Lazio is also the birthplace of contemporary celebrities like Alberto Sordi, Marcello Mastroianni and Vittorio De Sica.
